Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Matoaka Riedl and I am so excited to be your child’s 5^th Grade teacher.  During the year, I will be teaching your children Science, Ela, and Math. 

This is my second year teaching at Norwood-Norfolk.  Before my time at Salmon River, I have also had experiences in teaching 7^th grade science. I did my student teaching in first grade at the Mohawk  School and here at Norwood in 6^th grade.  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education from SUNY Potsdam. Currently, I am working towards my Master’s Degree in Curriculum in Instruction with a concentration in Special Education through (SUNY Potsdam).  Outside of teaching I enjoy watching hockey go SENS GO!!! I love spending time with the family, hiking, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, and Zumba!

I am thrilled to be starting on this year’s journey with your children!  I look forward to watching them learn, grow and have a fantastic time in fifth grade!
